Until you've been through a Life Club, the power of it isn't really evident. Louise Mason, Head of Training & Development, Telegraph Media Group
I was never sceptical about how Life Clubs would be received by our Associates but I similarly never believed just how much the target audience would enjoy this whole experience. I really cannot thank you enough for what you have created, because it is right without being rocket science. Jane Souch, Head of HR, Tech Ops, Novartis
Nina's approach to the issue of work/life balance at First Capital Connect was both creative and thought provoking delivering tangible solutions to addressing this universal issue. Sarah Pinch, Head of Communications, First Capital Connect

"What an amazing experience!" was the comment most noted from our Boards of directors who attended an all day workshop presented by Life Clubs. Heather's Story

When Heather went to the Stockport Women's Centre she was feeling very down. 'We were trying for our second child (the first is adopted) and I'd had IVF and I just couldn't get pregnant and I was staying at home a lot. I wanted to go out, but I didn't feel like talking. I used to be a fairly negative person and my mum was no help. Even as a child I couldn't talk to her about my periods. She doesn't have any sympathy. My mum used to smack me, she was very strict. She never made me feel useful or approved, she put me down big-time.
The Health Visitor suggested I go to the Stockport Women's Centre. I had to wait six months for a place. It was very exciting when I got one. I looked forward to Life Clubs every week. One of the most important things I found out was about my personality. I realized I'm a bit of an introvert. It was good to recognize my own feelings and how to cope with them. Once you're interested you learn more and I felt inspired to do things. I set a goal for the week and doing it made me feel good. I cleaned a lot of drawers, did things I've been putting off that can seem mammoth, talking about them makes them feel not as bad – making them into little steps and then doing them.
I'm more positive now and more confident. Life Clubs made me realize I can't change my mum, and I've begun to accept that I can't talk to her, that she'll never change. I can now to talk to my friends - they are helping me feel wanted. I feel I've achieved something my mum never thought I would do. She used to say ‘You'll never be a good mum' and I've proved her wrong.
